Venla Ilona Blom is multi-award-winning vocalist, composer and beatboxer from Finland. For the last decade she has been touring the world with an all-female vocal performance group Tuuletar. Tuuletar is one of the most prestigious and internationally acclaimed groups from Finnish folk music scene today and has won several music awards in recent years (f.e. Finnish Music Award EMMA for best Ethno album, 2016 and The Border Breaking Act of the Year, 2019). Their compositions have been playlisted in radio shows all over the world and used in TV-series such as Game of Thrones (HBO), Wentworth (FOX), The Rain and Monarca (Netflix). Tuuletar has performed in festivals and concert halls in four continents and 34 countries.

Aside from Tuuletar, Ms. Blom has worked as a soloist, composer and musician in several projects in Finland and Denmark (Piirainen | Blom | Company, Global Orchestra, Folk Big Band, Aarhus Jazz Festival, Royal Academy Big Band, Savonlinna Opera Festival). She has participated in several international music research projects and multicultural art projects as a musician and educator.

Ms. Blom also works as a studio producer in Finland and abroad. She is two-time awardee of the Finnish Cultural Foundation.

Venla Ilona Blom (s.1985) on EMMA-palkittu muusikko ja säveltäjä. Helsinkiläinen Blom on laulaja ja Suomen ainoa naispuolinen ammattitason beatboxaaja, jonka rohkea ja innovatiivinen tyyli on kerännyt arvostusta ympäri maailmaa. Blom on esiintynyt Tuuletar -yhtyeensä kanssa beatboxaajana ja laulajana liki 30 maassa. Blom toimii aktiivisesti myös tuottajana ja kouluttajana. Taiteellisessa työssään Blom on erikoistunut mm. kansanmusiikin ja beatboxauksen yhdistämiseen, beatboxauksen opetusmetodien kehittämiseen sekä monikulttuuriseen koulutus- ja taidetoimintaan. Blomin ja Tuuletar -yhtyeen laulua on kuultu mm. Game of Thrones -sarjan mainostrailerissa, Tunturin tarina -elokuvassa ja Vain Elämää -sarjassa.
